I'd say 10 normally

But you guys stuck way too close to the original, IMO.

I must say though, I love Lisa's voice in this version =) It's solid all the way through and actually keeps the original feeling of the song which is something that is sorely missing from the remixes of this song done by all the big names. So, props to you for that =)

Kazmo responds:

It's Lira, not Lisa.

Stuck too close to the original...how? I made it from scratch, shouldn't resemble the original at all.

Meh, thanks anyway!

Holy hell.

This sounds so authentic man.

If I put this into any dark vampire-ish nes game, people wouldn't be able to tell that it wasn't made for the game =O

My only qualm is that it doesn't loop well.

Oh, and I love the atmospheric effects at the beginning. excellent touch.

NickPerrin responds:

Thanks, that's exactly my aim when I make chiptune - to make it sound as if it came straight out of a NES game. I'm glad it seems to have worked out.
Cheers and thanks for the review! And feel free to check out my other 8-bit works!

Wooo

Nice man. Very removed from the original too. But I can still recognize all the melodies. I spent WAY too much time hunting in the beach dungeons so I know the tune off by heart by now =P

I'd have to say I like the original better though. Although it's kinda hard to compare because they are VERY different songs. But I like the straightforward thumbing attitude of the original while yours is much more dancy and fairy-like. Propably my experience with the song getting to me too because I went there to kill the big thumping golem things so this doesn't really feel like it fits =P

But regardless, I think this song could use a fuller lower end =O

ZeRo-BaSs responds:

Thank you for the advice :)

Thanks Arby!

ooooooo

One of my favorite songs. I personally love what you did with it. It sounds alot more full.

Now, if you could get the lyrics on there then it would be heavenly. =O

Gah... now I wanna watch FMA again...

SolusLunes responds:

Totally do not know the lyrics. It's been too long since I've heard that song. Might just do that. :D

awesome

This has to be the song that is most confused about what it's supposed to be in the existance of the universe (while still sounding good). I'd have to agree about the annoying beeping at 2:00. It sounds like someones trying to input codes into a futuristic computer really, really fast XD

Make more of these =P You could even try for a "dirty mix" as defined by housemasta with random sounds injected as part of the song.

SolusLunes responds:

Yep, because I really have yet to think of a genre that this fits in.

The beeping is probably actually my favorite part of the song- it will never be gone.

I do have a few songs like this in the works, but I didn't know people really liked them. :O

decent

The beginning was a little too slow for my liking but once it started to approach 1 min it was pretty good. My one big complaint however is that the whole thing simply seemed to lack any energy. It just didn't seem to be able to keep up any real feeling but rather felt overly hollow while the general direction was spooky/glitchy.

It feels like theres a small keystone missing but other then that, its good =). I think a low, supporting melody might have helped.

cycerin responds:

Well, it is a darkstep song and I didn't want to ornament it too much. But it might have more broad appeal with a bit more melody elements, like you said.

As always, great to hear from you mate :)

=.O

oooo, so when are the babies coming along?

Or has she only done oral for you so far? =P

<3

Awesome song as always. =O

MaestroRage responds:

Well as she lives about a 1000 miles south of me I don't think any such thing will be happening any time soon!

Besides, we'd be way too busy making teh musix and arguing about which key is the most awesomest key in the world. She hates G Major so i'd probably bring that up a lot.

Thanks for the review Arby, glad you liked it!

Lol ejay

Haha... Nice ejay song.

Ejay is not real composing tho =/ Use FL or Reason =P

APPSmusic responds:

im done using Ejay and learning FL studio

lol

I imagined a gangsta star just floating along rapping and breaking out with chains around it. Certainly an interesting visualization to say the least.

I would have liked an intense climax portion to the song. Instead, the 2nd half is just sorta... dead.

cycerin responds:

Yep, looking back I should have taken it deep underground instead of skyhigh. Oh well, I made this in like 6 hours of intensive work during one day. The ending did turn out a bit rushed.

Thanks for the review and score :)

Man..

I love your style dude. It's so smooth yet so epic at the same time. Methodical yet smooth. I might end up using this. I've been keeping my eyes out for a song that hints at being methodical while still being melodic.

cycerin responds:

Awesome to hear. And thank you for the appreciation. :D
