I came

Oh man... I mistook you for someone else.

Before 2006, there was another dude called cycerin. I thought you were him because I liked his music back then. I was like "WOAH, THIS DUDES IMPROVED HUGE AMOUNTS." But then I looked at your audio list looking for "your old songs and couldn't find them XD. The other dude's name is MFR now.

I love the second half of this song. I'm a true sucker when it comes to dynamic orchestral pieces. Anyway, congrats on weekly top. Now to check out your other songs.

cycerin responds:

Gah *shhhh*... It's still me. Glad to see your name again, you always bring the awesome reviews. :D

I love you

I love you. Have my babies.

Each segment was easy to tell from the others but it flowed together very nicely. I think you've probably heard this about a dozen or so times from me but I wanna go turn this into a flash animation =P I'm too busy to even try right now though =(

MaestroRage responds:

But having your babies is not only physically impossible, but is also a crime against humanity. Any child of mine would no doubt desire to destroy the world, and there can only be one plan to take it over through musi...

I mean, thank you!

If you do try to turn it into a flash, best of luck! Even if you don't finish it I hope you walk away a better flash artist!

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

My god, sir.

This sounds almost detached from your style. Did you steal it? =P

Don't worry. I won't tell. I'd have stolen it too. It's good enough to be stealing worthy. =)

For whatever reason the style reminds me heavily of FF9. Not in any sort of remix fashion, but rather the atmosphere itself. You could probably stick this in at a few points in the game and have it fit.

I think it's because of it's medieval-type style. I always love tunes like this =)

And... WHAT EMOTION DOES THIS SONG GIVE DAMMIT! Thats the thing that bugs me most and astounds me most. The song seems confused in the emotion it actually portrays. But, thats not because it doesn't portray any, it seems to be portraying them all at once. It ends up being a very funky mosaic and my head asplode.

Overall, very good work.

MaestroRage responds:

I did steal it... I must admit :'(

FROM MY BRAIN >:}

Its pressing charges :(

As for emotions. Hmm, this song is tricky in the sense it is not so much trying to give you an emotion, but attempting to captivate you. Its focus is purely on generating imagery, scene after scene, letting you fill in stories, characters, entire cultures within seconds. In order to help accomplish this the intense mixture of sounds were necessary.

I hope you didn't make a mess, I hate it when people's head explodes and I have to clean it up because everybody is like "LETS MAKE THIS RANDOM KID CLEAN IT UP!"

:/

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

How has this not been reviewed yet?

Very smooth. Theres not much to the song but its really nice to the ears.

Grillpie responds:

How this has not been reviewed yet? Songs get submitted to the portal, and if you're not somewhat famous it might get a review or two before it's completely forgotten about

meh

Thanks for the review nevertheless!

hehe....

During the 1st few seconds it sounds more like the morning shower =P Gettin squeaky clean for that depressing day ahead of you, eh?

Aha, now second time around i'm seeing the rain. It doesn't really feel like he's welcoming it though. more like "Aw shit, not ths again? I wanna just go back to bed." At least, thats what I feel like when I listen to this. Lazy asses unite!

Very good rainy day music though =)

MaestroRage responds:

XD, my absolute serene image, reduced to rubble by this image. Lazy bastards >:(, WELCOME THE RAIN DAMNED IT!

It gives you life and all that funky good jazz.

It is indeed good rainy day music, keep it handy, I should probably start making one for Christmas, snow storm music!

Thanks for the review Arby, glad you liked it!

nice by the end

I found the beginning to be a little bit blah. Of course, "blah" was probably a desired emotion in this piece with all the endlessness and that fun stuff =)

No real imagery generated from this one though. Except at the end a little. I really liked the end =)

But god dammit! This is exactly the piece I needed two weeks ago for a school project! XD You're teasing me you big meanie =P

MaestroRage responds:

of course. I purposely keep tabs on who needs what around the world, and then I giggle as I think "Oh man, that Arby could definitely use something like this in a project!!!"

and then of course i'll turn on my computer, get my hand all warmed up for mad clicking... and then... nothing >:}!

I like the end also, it turned out quite well.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

=) =)

Great. You guys always make a great team. I'd have to admit though, I like her voice better when its in long stretches.

If I recall correctly too, you have a version up here earlier that had actual lyrics in it. I'm actually quite happy that got replaced with this one. =) From my experience, words are a last resort and a resort for the artistically deaf. If always seems to be easier to tell a story with words then music but it's far less powerful. You have the ability to tell stories without words. Never lose touch with that talent. It is a gold mine.

Very ghastly piece though. Could fit into any ghost story =)

My only complaint is that at the end she does what sounds like some sort of almost Tarzan yell... XD I just found it semi-odd.

MaestroRage responds:

Indeed, quite a few people mentioned that the narration at the beginning was something that stole the experience from them. I personally thought the narration might help set the mood better, faster, and more effectively, but it is important to let the listeners dream for themselves. From here on out, I don't think lyrics will be used.

That yell is serving as a placeholder for the minute. She has recorded a segment, which suits that ending much better, I have yet to put up the newer version. Very soon I swear!

Thank you for the review Arby, i'm glad you liked it!

Woot

This is epic, good sir.

The vocals, lyrics and background work together to paint some great emotion. This sounds like a professional chart topper. No joke. If I heard this on the radio I would listen happily and think something something like "Wow, that sounds deep, cool and insightful. I've got to get the lyrics for it and see what other songs this guy has."

In fact, I was gonna ask for lyrics if Maestro hadn't beaten me to it =O. Darn you and your speedy reviews! Lyrics were written by you as well? Masterful my friend, masterful. If you don't mind my asking, where does your inspiration for this come from? Is it personnel experience?

Your voice is amazing. I'd assumed it to be an unwritten rule that NG audio artists couldn't sing very well. Well, I was wrong I guess =). You seem to have hit the vocals straight on the head. I love the effect. I don't know if its the effects you applied to the voice or just your inflection and overall singing but dude... Its candy to my ears.

I've never seriously considered this for other artists but if you get an album out you can consider it bought by me (and you can almost be assured, quite a few other people).

You get a 5 and 10, good sir.

But remember, the battle has only just begun =)

MilkMan-Dan responds:

EPIC!?

Wonderful!... thats what I was hoping for.

Tell your friends... tell your dog. Tell your dog's friends.

The inspiration for this peace comes from a personal experience. But many of us can relate to this song...

You simply make a mistake and spend the rest of your life wondering what would have happened if you hadn't made it. It's consuming really.

And don't worry... I can't sing... software is wonderful these days... so that rule still applies to newgrounds.

I'll let you know when I make an album. And then I'll send it to you for free cuz you rock.

Sincerely,
MMD

Damn you! XD

You always catch me off guard man. I thought you were gonna continue your trancical spree and this would be akin to a hardcore DnB. I still expected it to seriously pick up before I read your explanation =0

Great stuff with the timing and mood. The high piano neer the start reminds me of a song from FF6. Which isn't a bad thing ;P

MaestroRage responds:

I was going to, but I missed my old tools of the trade :(. I'll continue learning, and making of course, but i'm afraid for now, I want to continue telling stories. When times comes for more learning weeks, i'll go back to that trancical forge!

Glad you liked it Arby, thank you for the review! I apologize for the late response!

ooo

Destructive.

I think you really have found a strong point here mate. you know exactly how to use those instruments to create EMOTION! Holy hell, I normally assume that the only context i'll hear techno instruments is in keeping a good and interesting beat along with perhaps an apeasing melody.

I love how you cut the ending off as well. BANG. Death.

Then my ever wandering mind wonders what the music after that could sound like in this style. I ended up envisioning a ghost bouncing everywhere and just bothering the person with sorta happyish music.... XD. Thats my crazy mind for you.

MaestroRage responds:

Techno and Classical are two very seperate genres, both have strengths and weaknesses, it is my belief that the two, though difficult to voice together, have potentially the perfect balance that can be used for both emotion, and incredible levels of energy which otherwise might not be possible.

I also like the ending, though some perceive it strange or unpleasent.

As for the ghost, i'm afraid in this arena, once you have the chance to leave, you don't come back >:}

Thank you for your review, i'm glad you liked it!
